Jörgen Forsberg was named interim CEO of AB Trav och Galopp (ATG) and took office immediately. He will be running the company until a new permanent CEO is appointed.
Forsberg, who is at present the CEO and president of Svensk Travsport, is the one replacing Peter Norman, the chairman of ATG, who was acting CEO since the departure of Hasse Lord Skarplöth, the former CEO of the company, in February. Norman will once again give attention to his position as chairman of the board.
The CEO leaving Skarplöth parted ways with the company in February after he and the board of the company reportedly disagreed on its future to an extent that the resolution could not be found.
Norman said:
I welcome Jörgen Forsberg to ATG. He will lead the work to implement the plans decided by the board and serve as acting CEO until a new CEO is recruited. The recruitment process for a permanent solution is ongoing.
Forsberg, apart from being the CEO and group CEO of Svensk Travsport will in fact, be simultaneously the acting CEO of ATG. For the time being, the deputy CEO of Svensk Travsport, Ulf Hörnberg, will oversee the resolution of several major operational issues in the company.
