Google Ads Gambling Policy Changes: New Eligibility Rules

Google Ads announced changes to its Gambling and Games policy, imposing additional requirements for certification. Henceforth, any account wishing to advertise in gambling or gaming sectors must demonstrate that it follows the updated policy standards.

Account Managers (MCCs) whose accounts experienced the removal of several gaming certificates or whose managed accounts have been found to be breaking the gambling rules even after using a certificate are prohibited from applying for new online gambling certifications and their existing certifications have been revoked.

The update pointed out various domain requirements that were already part of the certification application.

The sites which were hosted on free platforms, or using a sub domain on a third, party platform, or sites that have no connection to gambling, or domains not directly owned and managed by the advertiser were not granted certification.

The Certification section of the Gambling and Games policy was updated with these criteria which took effect on March 23, 2026.
